The vision of the New Pitts Mortuary is to totally revolutionize and modernize the facilitation of funeral services and to dispel age-old myths, stereotypes and negative characterizations associated with the mortuary or funeral industry. Whether by accident or design traditional public perceptions of funeral directors and those responsible for providing such services have been characterized as gloomy, dismal, dead, (for lack of a better word), and completely void of "spirit." The vision of the New Pitts Mortuary is to change that totally.
Perhaps many commonly held perceptions of the funeral industry are directly tied to the passage of scripture found in the bible that says; "Let the dead bury their dead." But that particular scripture response was made by Jesus, in direct response to a man that wanted to go home and "wait" for his father to die, before getting about the business of ministry; and if that's all a person has to do is to "wait" for someone to die, then the one doing the waiting is dead already, thus the concept of "dead burying the dead" is absolutely correct.
But make no mistake about it; when it comes to Ms. Michelle Pitts and the staff of NPM she's not spending her time sitting around "waiting" for people to die; but rather she's constantly unfolding new pages of her vision as to how we can positively impact this community and add to the quality and quantity of life of the people we serve.
At the New Pitts Mortuary we're about "life," not death. Providing the necessary final preparations for the deceased is the least of what we do; as a matter of fact, that's the easy part; our greatest responsibility is to the living; to fulfill the needs of those that are left behind; and what we're doing tonight is part of that fulfillment; what we're doing tonight is presenting to you another page out of the heart of Ms Michelle Pitts, the Owner and President of the New Pitts Mortuary; for it's in the heart of this dynamic young woman...who is a great wife to her husband, Mr. Nathaniel Luckett... a great mother to her 5 children... and a great lover of this community...it's in her heart, that we will find the total vision for the New Pitts Mortuary... a vision that says; serving the people of this community is more than a job, it's more than a business, it's a ministry... a vision that makes the NPM "uniquely the exception and not the rule."

To elevate the level of care and assistance provided through "The New Pitts Mortuary" to include grief counseling, after care and family support.
To dispel age-old myths associated with funeral homes that suggest funeral directors and staff members are uncaring, unfriendly and un sympathetic and genuinely only in the business for the business. And not due to genuine love, compassion and passion for the families they serve. To further dispel the myth that funeral service providers have no genuine interest in or concern for the families they serve beyond final committal services, "The New Pitts Mortuary" will accomplish this through our personal individualized "family after care" program.

More than 40 years ago, the doors of Pitts Funeral Home opened to serve the city of Milwaukee and its surrounding communities. Since then, we have continued to take the lead in this community with special care and great attention to detail.
In 1996, Pitts Funeral Home experienced an internal face lift by becoming "The New Pitts Mortuary" under the leadership of President and Owner Michelle Pitts. Through excellence, service and reliability, Michelle has set a new standard of greater expectations by putting the community first.
